The special offer for 2XL is doing very well. We rented 30% of the stock prepared for this action. If the offer continues to be as successful, it is likely that we prepare a new stock of 2XL servers. And that we extend this special offer!
We have more and more orders on the Kimsufi 4XL. And we adapt the production to deliver these servers in 1 hour. But for the moment it is not yet the case in 100% of orders. There may be between 24H and 48H delay.
We sold the stock of EG that we prepared for the week. That means that we need to increase the production for these references. The delay will be caught up tomorrow.
We have many customers who switch from Kimsufi to PRO servers (SP / EG / MG / HG). They look for servers with more services, guarantees in terms of availability, better intervention and repair time and more powerful servers with more disk space. With our new datacentre Roubaix 2, we can follow this important growth by assuming deliveries in 1 hour. Since Friday all (or almost) is available. Monday, we will finish the IP Fail-over switch on the new VSS-1440 routers, IPv6, then we will be able to finish the best-test of IP loadbalancing.
This week, we should finish installing the router in Madrid, Prague and Milan. We must also finish the setting up of a new 10G link transit with Level3 transit in Paris. After 2 months and half, that link is still down.
We receive the first KVM this week. The KVM allows to take the video output, keyboard and mouse and then have it in a VNC screen. So you hand over the entire server, before the boot (you can customize the BIOS), but specially hands over the server when you have for example ... the network deconfiguration of your Windows server ... or you have a problem of volume mount on Solaris (no volume, no services, no ssh ... with KVM you can fix all). The vKVM that we are proposing is a software solution that enables 90% of features that KVM offers. But the server has to be rebooted in vKVM mode server (at the time, the server boots with a special rescue that launches server virtualization offering Your what happens between the rescue and virtualization). The KVM is an external box that is plugged to the server. This is a solution that works all the time with any OS and which you can also use the virtualization software (with vKVM it is not possible since vKVM is a virtualization). With the KVM, we will propose the Virtual Media, ie the ability to boot your server using one. ISO accessible via the Net. You can then install any software, for example, Windows XP, Solaris, OpenSolaris. You have your PC at home, you put the CD in and you mount in the KVM and then you install your server! The KVM up the Media from your PC at home (!) and it uses this CD for the installation.
The KVM will be offered in 2 modes:
- Temporary
- Standing
The temporary KVM cost £9.99 +VAT for 1 week. It is a package including the provision of a box and the lease of this box for 1 week. During this week you can install your server with Virtual Media
starting your server. To get the KVM permanently, you have to pay for the set up fee: £49. The KVM will cost £19+vat / month for 12 months. Next, the service is offered with the server. Exceptionally, if you rent the server (SP / EG / MG / HG) for18 months or more, the KVM is free. You only have to pay for the set up fees.
We are finishing works on the Standard and Premium SLA. We think proposing bandwidth for £2+vat/ Mbps. But we continues reflections and testing.
After processor virtualization and VT features of the processor, Intel releases network cards which have VT functions for IP packet. The VMW already manages this kind of features. These 10Gbps network cards ... Dedicated servers with 10Gbps network interfaces? Hmm ... are you interested?
At our level, we work on very high range servers, totally customized and with better and more complete services, with a financing of 24 or 36 months. After this time, the server becomes the priority of the client. Indeed, many companies have hosting problems related to power consumption and cooling power necessary, but do not want to rent. We are currently thinking of how to get this very high range market.

Octave
