OVH strives to be the best and make its stamp on the web hosting market and regularly challenge what has been done. On trying to do so by offering solutions with more added value while working on the price.
One of the keys to this success lies in the fact that trying to to test our ideas with our customers and have a feedback on these ideas. Then if the idea takes, try to develop quickly in alpha or beta and see if it meets the needs. Then if it really takes then we have to develop the idea until the end, with close collaboration with customers demand. In contrast, if the idea does not, do not develop or wait for better times to refine the idea.
Feedback and exchange with our customers is the basis for this method. hence the quality of the ideas that are enriched or not. To date, there is one
excellent mailing list @ sd-pro. Another example is the rps @ ml which was the basis the stabilization of the RPS supply. We also have something that is almost perfect on the voip @ which is very useful to refine our telephone.
Telephony. (VOIP) We realised that our approach has not at all been understood. Because our offerings have been successful immediately, we wiped 2-3 months of criticism. We also found it hard to refine the offerings with so many clients and can not do it properly with several thousands of customers. Basically, it is not possible to refine the offer in the same way as we refine the offers of hosting. There are too many customers, too different and are not necessarily willing to provide feedback. They want it working, that's it. The phone now works very well 2-3 weeks and since we have totally changed the method: We are fixing the little bugs that are insignificant, that affect 1 or 2 customers at the most. We fix everything.
Of course we read the forums where we post, but the feedback is more difficult to build. The feedback is very broad and interesting but also shows that customers in some countries are more susceptible to ads than others. It is therefore more difficult to draw conclusions on the needs and what offer will be successful and which would be a flop.
We tried to build an exchange on the mailing list mutu-pro @ but experience has failed. The principle has not been understood by customers and there was no hope that change.
This experience and other feedback leads us to ask questions on what methods will work and exchange with our clients to innovate in the future on all kinds of products, services and solutions. It has several benches in our products but we are nearing completion will have to evolve in terms of discussion with our customers. How?

This type of exchange would be much more confidential than in the past and so we can avoid the people who are not ready to test betas or do not understand the principle about beta. But the quality of an exchange is based on the quality customers and on who we choose. "
