Hello,
Here is the current status of deliveries (2008-10-05 15h00).
Servers to experiment and to play with:
- Kimsufi L OK -> 1 hour
- Kimsufi XL 48H delay (The oldest order paid and not deployed is dated 2008-10-03 23:50:07)
- Kimsufi 2XL OK -> 1 hour
- Kimsufi 3XL OK -> 1 hour
- Kimsufi 4XL OK -> 1 hour
Pro, business and critical servers:
- miniSP OK -> 1 hour
- SP bestof OK -> 1 hour
- SP Max fr,es OK -> 1 hour
- SP Max de OK -> 1 hour
- SP Max uk,pl OK -> 1 hour
- EG Bestof OK -> 1 hour
- EG Max OK -> 1 hour
- EG Large OK -> 1 hour
- MG Bestof OK -> 1 hour
- MG Max OK -> 1 hour
- MG Large OK -> 1 hour
- miniHG OK -> 1 hour
- HG Bestof OK -> 1 hour
- HG BiTurbo OK -> 1 hour
- HG Large OK -> 1 hour
There is no delay in deliveries. However, we have more orders for Kimsufi XL. This is due to the fact that the customers switch from Kimsufi L to XL because they need more computing power. The special offer on 2XL continues on. There are as many orders for 2XL as for the L!
On the PRO range nothing to say :) everything is delivered in 1 hour. Now production is properly adjusted to sales.
This week, we had a slight delay in deliveries on Wednesday and Thursday due to internal training of 70% of our teams in datacentre regarding management in medium voltage (20000V). The aim is to reduce the time for intervention on 20000V of about 30-45 minutes to 2-3 minutes with the teams that are already on duty 24/7. So everyone can change a fuse of 20000V :)
This week we changed the closure system of dedicated servers to adapt them to new VSS routers. There are no consequences. It is just for your info. However, we can finally start works on Premium SLA 1Gbps/2Gbps per customer.
The European backbone of Chtix is being deployed. Thus, on Espanix in Madrid, the router has been established. Normally this week everything should work. The same applies to MIX in Milan, which will be placed in the rack on Tuesday and NIX in Prague. Next, VIX will follow later in Vienna. We have small delays on TIX in Zurick because of customs problems, but it will be resolved early this week. On PL-IX in Warsaw, we will deploy this week as well, but it is a little more complicated. Indeed, the central routing in Poland is made in LIM which is a ... hotel. 4 floors of this hotel were designed by various companies to rent racks. To sum up, we must put the router in the car and drive 2000km instead of sending it by UPS and fly.
10G Transit with Level3 in Paris have been put in place. There is still 10G for Level3 in Madrid. We still have some small problems with 10G with Global Crossing in London, sometimes jumping BGP session. For now we have not yet found the cause of the problem (a dirty fiber optics somewhere ... but where?).
In parallel, we continue to work on IP loadbalancing which is in the final phase of beta testing. We only have to put monitoring servers that will detect the breakdown of servers and then remove / add the servers in a cluster. The same for the KVM and all options we have already spoken about. With the move of offices, we needed to find our habits to develop again as quickly as before. I hope it is done and we can move forward. Because there is work to do.
We will offer the 500GB hard drive at £10+vat/ month, up to 4 additional disks per server. it is an option that we can add without rebooting the server. So if you have a Kimsufi L, you have 250GB for 4x"10/month you have 2TB more (in RAID-0)!
We renforced the security to access your Manager. You have a more explicit login page. You will receive an notification email when you connect to the Manager. Other measures will be implemented this week. The aim is to address attempts to phish the OVH manager and to protect our customers against themselves and despite themselves. The task is not simple.
Other surprises will follow in the coming weeks.
Regards,
Octave
