Order a i7-4T on: 12th January
After many chasing emails, managed to finally get the server setup on the 17th January with a different O/S than the one I had originally wanted.

Queried getting the setup fee, as it taken 5 days to setup:

That's why, the 1 hour delivery cannot be guaranteed, but it's a fair way to say what hardware is available. What is guaranteed is the 72 hours delivery, and this is subject to availability (that you can check on the website).

See highlighted part in bold...

I'm afraid that we cannot refund the setup, as the delivery is never guaranteed.

So after the first email said, setup was guaranteed, the second says its not? Something of note, kimsufi.co.uk does not mention any availability clauses with setup. So if the site says 72 hours, then it should surely be delivered within 72 hours?

After getting the machine setup, and spending 2 days trying to install our own O/S via vkvm, we had difficulties as the spec of the vkvm is nothing like what we actually ordered (virtualized AMD CPU, and 1.5GB Ram) - Not enough for an install of ESXi.

Emailed back and forth to support, and finally got them to check the installer version of ESXi.
They did so and found a hard drive fault. Awesome, get the hard drive replaced and then on to the correct O/S, this was on the 19th Jan

Checked the machine on the 20th Jan, there was a missing hard drive, we only had 3 instead of 4. After providing proof 3 times, they randomly turned the machine off and re-added the missing hard drive (I was setting up a VM at the time, not impressed it was just shutdown!).

After replacing the missing hard drive, we then ask about the fact only ONE "fail-over" ip works. The other 2 don't ping from the outside world. They can ping other virtual machines on the box, just not the host, or the outside world.
Have tried deleting and re-setting the virtual MAC, which doesn't change anything.

Emailed support about this on Friday, and again today with no answer.

Hello mate, it looks OVH is trying to cheat on us. Could you please contact me privately, as OVH sells no-existent services, services they are not ready to provide. It is a cheat attempt, as I was told in my local Citizen Advice Bureau, they promised to help to sort it out if the problem persists.

Hi liv3d

I have been exchanging emails with you yesterday.... (So I am not sure why you say "Emailed support about this on Friday, and again today with no answer.", you order Esxi which is currently not compatible with your server and it had to be switched. Your servers contract did not start until the server was deployed.

When doing an intervention, as our servers are unmanaged, it is up to you to shutdown the server correctly, you have a 15 minutes warning before we access your server.

We tested your IP's and they work, if you can find proof that they do not then please let us know, and you have until today to contact us for a refund if you want.

I have to say I have had issues with the kimsufi hardware but the one thing that has always impressed me has been the customer service (even if they can't always solve the issue :)).

In particular, I have had very good correspondance with Neil who even emailed me when he wasn't working as he noticed that a problem we had been discussing still hadn't been solved.

Please note - I am not commenting on *your* particular experience (which sounds dreadful!) I merely want to prevent this turning into an "OVH customer service suck" thread.

(Disclaimer, I don't work for, or are affiliated with OVH. In fact I have some pretty negative feelings towards them myself, just not in the frequency of correspondance with the support desk :))

Please, even if the 1st line of support is all right, the whole company is not working properly - I was waiting 33 days to run my server and they told me I need to pay for it.

So please note - I am not commenting on *your* particular experience (which sounds cool!).

you order Esxi which is currently not compatible with your server and it had to be switched.

Why is it 'not supported'? The i7's are supported, and if some other hardware isn't, why are you using it when you state ESXi is an installation option?

It is not compatible with 3ware RAID Cards, we seeing if we can patch this ourselves but it is a Esxi issue.

This not an incident ticket issue and Kimsufi is not designed for Businesses, if it is a Business then you need an OVH Server.

You can change it yourself in the OVH Manager, log in, click on the domain name, then Domain & DNS and DNS Server, where you will need create the Zone and change the DNS Back to OVH DNS and not your servers DNS.
