Hello,
Since January we have performed beta and gamma
testing of Cloud Computing at OVH. In all, with a limit of
5 Clouds / customer, we have over 8000 Clouds currently
operating. Internally we have strengthened our team to
the standard of the interface + and it is now moving forward
at a good speed with 2 updates per week. Below we have all the
answers to all questions that arose. Service is stable. Cloud
starts in 10-25 seconds after the ping command and after 40
seconds max. It also stops in a few seconds. The distributions
are stable.
We are still working on the billing and it is being completed. We
will use "Points" accounts with billing at the beginning of each
hour for the number of points used in your Cloud. Above all, we
seek simplicity, a service that is easy to understand: so many
points per hour.
We would like to propose three important points: fixed billing
without surprises, hourly billing without commitment and
immediate changing of resources allocated in the Cloud.
So ...
We will start this week, probably Thursday, with the first offer
that we have tested for 3-4 months with the code name mC,
which will be offered under the brand Kimsufi, with billing by
the hour fixed all-inclusive, root access, the possibility of changing
of resources allocated to each mC ... later with the load balancing
service of WEB, SMTP, POP3, all firewalled by default and
therefore protected against attacks ... We can already speak of
the price: £0.01 + VAT / hour for basic and progressive mC for
every £0.01 + VAT / hour.
Then two weeks later will follow 2 dC, i.e. mysql and nfs / samba.
This is Cloud without root access, just the port, where it provides
the "managed" service with a fixed charging time and swapping.
The MySQL dC is a technology that we have developed it is more
than a year on shared hosting (private sql) which is stable, with less
than 1,000 customers in production, with an Emotional
interface (already) and very rich in functionality ... We can already
speak of the price: £0.01 + VAT / hour for the dC database and
scalable for every £0.01 + VAT / hour ... as mC ... and the
dC nfs / samba is a service in beta testing for 6 months with a
few beta testers, with an interface that we have repeatedly tested
with you in alpha (the choice of disks), where we will offer you the
nfs / samba service between 1TB and 24TB of disk space
secured or unsecured, with or without SSD cache, and billing fixed
at whatever the use of the disks and use whatever I/O of your
disk space. .. even if you master this service (it uses internally), it
will go through a gamma test at the dC to finalise the interface ...
That is the program of the Cloud for 3-4 weeks. Basically, it's off ... D-5 ...
