Hiya,
Im looking to order a server from the Kimsufi range, but i wish to use my own windows 2003 server license ( As i get it for free - directly from Microsoft - as part of my university course )
Can someone advise me on what i need to do/who i have to contact.

you have an OEM licence and you want to use it ? or you have SPLA
licence and you want to use it ?

To be honest im not 100% if its a OEM or SPLA licence ( but i think it 'might' be OEM )

Got these from my University too. Each license can be used on 1 computer for non commercial use.

These are not OEM copies. OEM strictly means 'Original Equipment Manufacturer' and it is only legal to bundle these with hardware.
These uni copies you have are fully allowed to be put on a server for your use as long as you are not making money from it.
I encourage OVH to contact Microsoft and confirm as this is not something you should be passing up!

what about if i have microsoft action pack? can i use my own windows 2003 standart edition key from that pack?

Action Pack contains a standard copy too, not OEM so you should be fine.
People should be bugging customersupport@ovh.co.uk pretty constantly on this until we get an answer.

I never got around to contacting them actually as i found a VPS solution that was good enough for my needs, im still curious tho as an upgrade will be needed soon enuff
