Hello,
After the news about the network and housing, we turn to the telephone.
Telephony
- Deliveries 48h phone anywhere in France go without worries. We can start sending out phones very soon on Belgium (with phones on loan it is forbidden to tying Belgium).
- Our interconnection with France Telecom has been established and tested successfully by teams from France Telecom for 2 days. Within 10 days, it must be declared by France Telecom as usable then we will announce our non-geographic numbers (we have 600,000 numbers in 09XXXXXXXX)
- Towards mid-January, interconnection with France Telecom should also support geographic numbers (you must sign some documents and wait). We can deliver new geographic numbers in 10 areas in France. But above all make an existing number that you have to our infrastructure. It may bring any number 01/02/03/04/05 on phones (P & P or SIP) that you already hold with Ovh. It is a fresh move towards solutions at Ovh:
- You have a phone line or a PABX with the Historic operator
- You order a phone with you 09XXXXXXX connect to your BOX
- You are testing, use, deploy and if it meets your needs
- You take the number to your existing 01/02/03/04/05 phone at Ovh
- While continuing to function as before with more services and for a better price
- We still working on the interconnections with DT (DE), BT (UK) Telefonica (ES), TPSA (PL) and Belgacom (BE). That advance less
in France but eventually we interconnect with the incumbent in these countries. Then we can deliver the numbers in these countries on your phone at Ovh as a 01/02/03/04/05 but also bring an existing number. Not before March / April 2009.
- Next week we will evolve telephony offers and offer phones on loan with a Lifetime equipment warranty (by paying a deposit). You'll have
much more flexibility in testing and development, you will be able to stop when you want, or change the phone to another template if you wish.
- The fax service is in beta test. You can send faxes in large numbers very easily (via email). Under 3 weeks, we will propose a driver for Windows that you can use to print your documents via fax at Ovh and thus send faxes as easily under Windows. XML API will also be proposed to automate sending faxes from your PHP / Perl applications etc. Under 6 weeks.
- The establishment of the supply of fax and voice2mail were billed at the standard price of 9.99Euro +VAT. We will reimburse
customers who subscribed to the offer at that price (in the form of loyalty points). The establishment of these 2 offers will cost a one of payment of 0.99Euro +VAT, and nothing per month.
- We are in the final development phase of the billing, this project should be finalised within about 10 days (dev have been working on this project for 3 months). Do not hesitate to get back to us if you encounter any problems in order us to fix them. Therefore if the statements, invoices etc are not clear enough do not hesitate to ask questions. It will enable us to improve such documents
- We have simplified the tarrifs of the calls to landlines and mobiles everywhere in the world (apart from contracts). Instead of having a tarrif per destination and per number range (for example in uk 0208/0161 its to explain to you dont give this example on the forum), we propose only 2 tarrifs: to landlines and to mobile. However, sometimes there can be some incoherences in some destinations.
For example, there are some Beligian mobile providers that charge from simple to double. We have to fix it and to see what we can propose and for what volume of calls. Do not hesitate to get back to us if you see any inconsistencies in pricing so that we can review the price of destination (either correct the inconsistency is if we have a price not interesting to find operators termination Appeals that offer better prices to these destinations).
- Starting from January, we will begin testing set SDSL up connections in France. The goal is not to propose Internet access (and a 42 ISPs in France) but to provide a connection to our private telephone network (only). The Customers may begin to use our phones with a BOX from one of the ISPs in the market and whether they need to use the phone a lot or has a problem of quality network, we will be able to provide the network for quality Voice (only) and up to 1,000 simultaneous calls with ALS and guarantees of availability and compensation in case of problems. With these offers, we expect to provide a real alternative to the incumbent in terms of quality while reducing the price everywhere in France (since based on the offers wholesale SDSL the incumbent and its SLA but cheaper). We think final tests for May / June 2009. From mid 2009, we will begin tests of the same type of Offer in some countries in Europe namely DE / PL / ES / UK / IT at the same time that we'll offer phone numbers for nationals of those countries. It is hoped that by the end of 2009 everything will be completed in 7 countries where we are present: FR / BE / UK / IT / ES / PL The goal is to offer phone offers with superior quality of Voice, more functionality, more flexibility, more developments and a better price and with shorter time to put in place. It is believed SDSL will be more or less included in the price of calls ... we're looking for a business model.
-Resellers will be able to continue to buy phones at reselling price (without any profit margin)
Phone manufacturers ... We will also establish payments to dealers when selling new lines a % of what the phone line generates each month. And because the dealers use a billing account which includes all its customers, they will be free to apply to the customers their own pricing. The tools for simple billing will be in place shortly, but please let us put pressure on Implementing these tools in specifying the form (CSV? table excel? the text file? XML? etc). Also, in 2 months, we will go to Step 3 (after the sale and the loan phones) namely contracts with a commitment to 1 year. We have to update our commercial contracts, billing methods, warranties/guarantees and abuses because our target is to lend phones to our customers without requesting any deposit at the end. It's therefore a contract on which we are currently working, with a reseller that manages its customers and "vouch" for its customers. Do not hesitate to give your point of view on this matter.
Regards,
Octave
